Mission & Purpose
The Missoula Organization of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award recognizes those REALTORS® who make an extraordinary impact within their communities through volunteer work.
Award
A $1,000 one-time award to the 501(c)(3) non-profit with which the MOR Good Neighbor is involved.
MOR's Good Neighbor Award Winner will also be nominated for the National Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award where winners may receive up to $10,000 in grants for their cause plus national publicity.
Criteria
- Nominees must be a REALTOR® member of the Missoula Organization of REALTORS® (MOR).
- Nominees should have contributed to a program that improves the livability of our local community. Those activities aren’t limited to real estate or housing issues, and may include such things as crime prevention, youth mentoring, and homelessness prevention.
- Nominees will be judged on level of personal contribution, especially volunteer (unpaid) hours, though contributions of money and other resources will be considered as well.
- Some portion of the nominee’s work must have taken place within the 12 months prior to the nomination deadline, which is September 16th, 2024.
- This award is intended to recognize individuals, not associations or companies. If an individual within your association or company can be singled out as instrumental to the success of a group effort, they are eligible.

Nominees as well as the winner will be announced at MOR's Annual Meeting in November 2024.
Rules
- REALTORS® may nominate themselves or may be nominated by another REALTOR®, a state or local association executive, the organization they serve, and/or a member of the public.
- If applicable, award finalists must be willing to be interviewed, photographed, filmed, and nominated for the National Association of REALTORS® Good Neighbor Award.
- Nominees must be members of NAR, MAR and MOR in good standing.
- Nominees should have made a significant impact as a volunteer for a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Eligible activities are not limited to real estate or housing issues and may include volunteer work done overseas.
- Nominees should have made a significant contribution of personal time, but contributions of money, materials, and other resources will be considered by the judges as well.
- Nominees will be judged on level of personal contribution, impact of personal contribution, broadness of impact, and the project's suitability as a role model for other REALTORS®.
- The award is intended to recognize individual contributions, not association- or company-wide efforts. If an individual within your company can be singled out as instrumental to the success of a group effort, they are eligible.
- Some portion of the nominee's community work must have taken place during the timeframe specified on the application form, but judges will also consider ongoing efforts outside that timeframe that demonstrate a depth of commitment.
- Nominees should be able to document the results of their individual involvement though published reports and/or testimonials from the organization they served or the people they helped.
- The award donation must be issued to a U.S. 501(c)3 nonprofit organization deemed by MOR's Recognition Taskforce members to benefit the livability of the greater Missoula Area.
- The Missoula Organization of REALTORS® Board, Staff and Recognition Taskforce members will not accept lobbying efforts on behalf of nominees.
